Here's How:
1. Register for the club meeting and request a copy of this month's book from the local library system
2. Read the book!
3. Come to our meeting on the 4th Wednesday of each month at 5:30 pm and get together with other group members to discuss
4. Do it all again next month!
Banned Together is a book club for all the rebel readers out there! This club will focus on introducing tween readers to frequently banned or challenged children's books. Along with the book discussion we will discuss why the book has been banned and the impact it has on its readers. This club is a great opportunity to introduce tweens to classic and relevant children's literature as well teach them about the importance of literary freedom.
Banned Together will meet on the fourth Tuesday of each month at 6pm. Meetings will take place on the second floor of the Children' Library at Upper Darby - Sellers Memorial Branch. To sign up and receive your copy of the book, please come to the Children's Circulation Desk at Sellers.

Youth-Led Humanities
Youth Led Humanities (similar to TRL) is an award-winning, nontraditional book club for teens in grades 7-12, also described as a book club on steriods!
In YLH we read really good books, talk about the issues that come up, and do creative activities related to the humanities. The events we choose to do are driven by teens' interests. This year we learned about improv, made jewelry, have painted, and are making plans to visit the historical Swedish Cabin in Upper Darby.
In YLH we use the humanities (art, music, poetry, history, etc. ) to reflect on and discuss concerns that teens face. The choices of what to read, listen to, or view will be made in collaboration with the group members. Part of the program includes working with peers on a civic engagement project. We meet on Fridays from 3:00 pm - 5:00pm in person, at UDTL - Municipal Branch (501 Bywood Avenue).
Hooked on Books
