We are hosting a series of classes for gardeners that will at provides novice and more experienced attendees the tools they need to learn how to successfully grow a portion of their own food on a limited budget. Participants can also learn the benefits of growing flower gardens and houseplants/
During the course of the program, participants will learn adaptable lessons to build confidence and food security. This program focuses on life skills, environmental stewardship, and making gardening accessible for diverse experiences, indoors or outdoors.
Topics
• Planning: Site selection, sunlight, garden beds, containers.
• Soil: Healthy soil, composting, nutrients.
• Planting: Seeds vs. transplants, planting techniques.
• Care: Watering, weeding, pest management.
• Harvesting & Use: Knowing when to pick, healthy eating, storing produce, recipes.
